6th Grade Parents and JH Athletic Parents,
I wanted to let you know that we have decided that our 6th grade will be participating with JH Athletics this 2025/2026 School Year. If your child is planning on participating in athletics they will need a physical before they practice or play. If you have any questions please reach out to one of your child's coaches, Mr. McGee or myself Mrs. Polk
Thank you, Mrs. Polk

Please see the attached picture regarding Smithville High Schools updated policy on cell phones and other personal electronic devices. Senate Bill 139 implements "a "bell-to-bell" ban, meaning from the first bell to the last, requires schools to restrict student access to personal electronic devices, including smartwatches, tablets, and smart glasses." We are also implementing a new policy regarding checking out for lunch. If you would like your child(ren) to be able to leave during the lunch period, you have the option to have a notorized paper for your child(ren). This will allow your child(ren) to leave during the lunch period, 12:20-12:50 only, without you calling to check them out on each occasion. If you wish to have this option feel free to stop by the high school next week from 9-2:30 to get a form. You may, however, call to check them out for the lunch period as you did in the past as well. We know changes take partnership, we are here to support a smooth transition. Should you need to reach your child during the school day you can call the high school office at 580-244-3281. 2025-2026 High School Handbook https://core-docs.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/2395/sps/5889626/STUDENT_HANDBOOK_25-26.docx__1_.pdf
